This week, a film crew from Kosovo, led by President of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) Board Xhemajl Rexha, is working in Ukraine.

He goes live every day on the Euronews Albania TV channel and prepares stories united by the topic dedicated to the anniversary of Ukraine’s resistance to the full-scale Russian invasion.

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) helps Xhemajl Rexha’s film crew. In particular, on Wednesday, February 22, Kosovar colleagues were provided with protective equipment for filming in dangerous territories of Ukraine.

In addition, NUJU President Sergiy Tomilenko presented the AJK with a painting by 10-year-old artist Maksym Brovchenko. The boy, who lives with autism, was forced to evacuate his hometown of Berdiansk with his mother when the war started. Currently, he paints pictures, sells them, and directs the proceeds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

“The picture we present to our Kosovo colleagues symbolizes faith in the Victory of Ukraine, in the victory of good over evil!” Sergiy Tomilenko emphasized.

He added that the NUJU is grateful to the AJK, the governments of Kosovo and Germany for the implementation of the Journalists-in-Residence Programme for Ukrainian journalists.

As earlier reported, the program covers living expenses, wages and offices so that Ukrainian journalists can work remotely while living in Kosovo. Under this program, 13 elderly Ukrainian female and male journalists received asylum in the country. There are currently 12 Ukrainian media representatives in Kosovo.
