Three sets of protective equipment were provided by the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) to colleagues from Pavlohrad for their safe work trip to the east of Ukraine.

“We are going to the Avdiyivka Axis. This will be our first trip to the frontline area. We plan to meet with the fighters to provide them with help. And also to communicate with residents of de-occupied settlements,” says Ilona Bespalova, a correspondent of the independent information portal Pavlohrad Now.

The journalist will travel together with the cameraman Anton Nechayev and the curator of the portal Yurii Shevchenko. All three are accredited by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). They say that there were no problems or complications with receiving the documents; they only had to wait about a month while their data was checked.

In the NUJU’s Dnipro JSC, you can temporarily use high-quality protective equipment – a PRESS-branded bulletproof vest with a helmet and a tactical first-aid kit. The rental is free, but it is necessary to have AFU accreditation. Media people from Pavlohrad took advantage of this opportunity and took three sets of protective equipment.

“Many of our colleagues work in those areas; we listen to their advice. We also closely cooperate with Hospitaliers (Ukrainian volunteer medical battalion). So, we know the basics of how to apply a tourniquet and provide first aid,” Ilona added.

As earlier reported, the Dnipro JSC provides journalists with organizational, technical, and consulting assistance and conducts various activities, training sessions, and professional meetings. You can come here to work and also take advantage of the free rental of high-quality protective equipment for work in hot spots.

Call the Dnipro JSC at 050 919 8479 (Nataliya Nazarova, the Dnipro JSC coordinator). The Center’s address is 8 Starokozatska Street.
