AFU General Staff Chief honors 5 NUJU active members

For the first time, the active representatives of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) from different regions of Ukraine were honored by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Serhii Shaptala.

On July 6, during the NUJU board’s extended meeting, the Union President, Sergiy Tomilenko, presented gratitude honors to five Union members.

For high professional skill, active creative and public activity in the information field, and preparation of patriotic materials on the topics of Ukraine’s defense, the following Union were awarded:

– Nataliya Kuzmenko, the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the NUJU/coordinator of the Journalists’ Solidarity Center (Zaporizhzhia), who made a significant contribution to the fight against enemy propaganda, and is engaged in helping the Ukrainian army, territorial defense, takes care of vocational training, conducts powerful volunteer activities, conducts campaigns for the issuance of humanitarian assistance, distribution of newspapers among the servicemen of the AFU, carries out educational training sessions on the security of the population during various threats, promotes the development of young talents;

– Valerii Dreshpak, a professor of the Department of Journalism at the University of Customs and Finance/member of the Board of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU. He is engaged in the provision of assistance and support to the AFU during the resistance to Russian aggression, makes a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian journalism and the training of young journalists, takes an active civic role position in the conditions of a large-scale war;

– Maryna Teplenko-Didyk, a deputy head of the Vinnytsia regional organization of the NUJU/Honored Journalist of Ukraine, who is engaged in conducting active creative and public activities in the information field, prepares multi-genre publications for mass media and social networks on the topics of the defense of Ukraine;

– Ivan Melnyk, the editor-in-chief of the Chornomorski Novyny [Black Sea News] newspaper (Odesa)/ NUJU Board member. He demonstrates high professionalism and dedication to the newspaper business, comprehensively covers military topics and the life of the population of the southeastern region of Ukraine;

– Valentyna Dushok, an NUJU secretary/director of the Ildana TV and radio company/executive secretary of the Cherkasy regional organization of the NUJU. She has many years of conscientious work, showed high patriotism, multifaceted coverage of the life of the Cherkasy Region, and contributed to ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens in conditions of war.
