Mykola Kaliuzhnyi, deputy editor-in-chief of the Obrii Iziumshchyny newspaper, has received a certificate from the State TV and Radio Broadcasting Committee and a power bank from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
Honors were presented to the journalist by the President of the NUJU, Sergiy Tomilenko, on the occasion of Journalist’s Day.
Mykola Kaliuzhnyi is a veteran journalist. During the occupation of the city of Izium, he was offered several times to cooperate with the invaders heading a pro-Russian publication.
“You have to work for Izium,” collaborators told Kaliuzhnyi. However, he flatly refused. “I am an elderly person; I do not change my principles,” answered Mykola Kaliuzhnyi.
Moreover, еру ощ helped the editor-in-chief Kostiantyn Hryhorenko, who was in evacuation, to prepare materials from the occupied city.
“There were problems with mobile communication, we were tapped, but I still found an opportunity to communicate with the editor,” noted Mykola Kaliuzhnyi in a comment for the NUJU.
