As of now, more than 150 media persons have signed an appeal to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine calling for the reinstatement of 3rd Rank Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk as the head of the press service of the tactical group Hrim [Thunder] (Kherson).

Among the signatories of the corresponding appeal for the reinstatement of Dmytro Pletenchuk as an effective press officer are war correspondents Nataliya Nahorna, Oleh Baturin, Andrii Kovalenko, Kostiantyn Liberov, and others.

“We note that Dmytro Pletenchuk is a responsible and conscientious specialist who has repeatedly contributed to the prompt and efficient work of each of us,” the appeal reads. “As a result, the Ukrainian and international communities were informed promptly about the achievements of the Ukrainian army and the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation.”

The signatories also ask to consider the possibilities of positive and effective changes in the communication and personnel policy of the press service of the South Operational Command.

The document was addressed to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, the commander of the Odesa united strategic troops group, Major General Eduard Moskaliov, acting director of the Directorate of Information Policy in the Field of Defense and Strategic Communications of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine/Colonel Iryna Makarchenko, and Chief of the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine/Colonel Bohdan Senyk.

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) expresses solidarity with one of the best press officers, Dmytro Pletenchuk, and supports our colleagues who, risking their lives working on the front lines, note the effective help of an experienced press officer in creating professional, objective materials.

“We respect the right of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to make personnel decisions. At the same time, today, the Ukrainian and international media lack materials about the events in Kherson and the Kherson Region,” notes Sergiy Tomilenko, the President of the NUJU. “We believe that the prompt return of Dmytro Pletenchuk to his position will contribute to the high-quality coverage of the events in Kherson in the world media and will contribute to international support for Ukraine and solidarity with our country.”
