On January 4, Volodymyr Sinichuk, a photojournalist for the Ridnyi Krai newspaper (Velyka Bahachka, Poltava Region), who stood up for Ukraine when the full-scale war began, was killed in a battle in the Donetsk Region.

This was reported by the Velyka Bahachka Village Council.

Volodymyr Sinichuk was born on October 24, 1973, in the village of Velyka Bahachka. After graduating from a local school, he received higher education at the Luhansk Pedagogical Institute. For some time, he worked as a teacher at the Semenivka school, but devoted the main part of his professional life to journalism – for many years, he held the position of photojournalist for the district newspaper, Ridnyi Krai.

On December 20, 2022, Volodymyr Sinichuk was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For more than two years, he courageously performed his military duty, defending the freedom and independence of our state.

The farewell to the soldier was attended by his family, fellow soldiers, and community residents. The Defender is survived by his elderly parents, two daughters, a granddaughter, and a sister.

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) expresses its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends, and fellow soldiers of Volodymyr Sinichuk. A bright memory of a colleague who gave his life for Ukraine…
