In the Donetsk region, in Pokrovsk, an enemy drone targeted a car carrying journalists Inna Varenytsia and Zoriana Stelmakh. Fortunately, the journalists themselves were not injured, but the car needs repairs.

Varenytsia reported this on Facebook, as well as in a conversation with ZMINA.

The journalist said that Pokrovsk now has three very dangerous roads: one leading to the city and two in the city center at the crossings. Most incidents with enemy shelling occur there.

Local residents who live near the crossing where the car was shelled told the media that drones are constantly hovering over the road. Although russian military personnel also often hit civilians in the city.

However, there is no other way to get to Pokrovsk, so they had to drive through the crossing at the speed that was possible.

Surprisingly, everyone in the car was unharmed, she says. Moreover, not a single piece of debris hit the wheels or the gas tank, so the journalists were able to continue driving.

Inna Varenytsia said that this was not her first time in Pokrovsk. She noted that the security situation in the city had deteriorated significantly since January 27: civilian cars, including volunteer vehicles involved in the evacuation, were hit every day.

On the same day as the journalists’ car, another car with three civilians was fired on – on the highway leading to Pokrovsk from the Dnipro side: a white car with “people” markings. One of the passengers, a woman, was killed.

As the journalist clarified, the russians use various types of drones for shelling, attack with FPV drones, fiber-optic drones, and drop explosives.

After making sure that the car was moving, the journalists reached the city center and talked to the locals who still remain in Pokrovsk. When they left, they took an elderly man with them as he wanted to evacuate.

Upon returning, the journalist gave the car for diagnostics. After examining and repairing the car, Inna and her colleagues will continue their trips closer to the front line to report from the scene.
