This is not the first time Mr. Jun’ichi Kowaka has supported Zaporizhzhia media workers. He does this from the bottom of his heart and at his own expense, showing solidarity with Ukrainian journalists who live and work in conditions of war with the russian invaders.

Light and comfortable vests will serve as a form of identification for media workers while performing their professional duties, ensuring clear identification of media representatives when covering mass events.

Zaporizhzhia journalists willingly received the vests and are sincerely grateful to Mr. Jun’ichi Kowaka for the solidarity and support, which are very important at this time. They also expressed their gratitude to the Humanitarian Nova Poshta, whose employees delivered this cargo to Zaporizhzhia free of charge.

The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.

Contact the Zaporizhzhia JSC at 096 277 5352 (Nataliya Kuzmenko and Valentyna Manzhura, the coordinators of the Zaporizhia JSC). The Center’s address is 15 Sobornyi Avenue.
