The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) is grateful to the International and European Federations of Journalists (IFJ and EFJ), the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the National Police, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, international partners and colleagues who help journalists in their work, including the documentation of crimes against media representatives.

This was emphasized by Lina Kushch, the First Secretary of the NUJU, during the opening of the exhibition called Ukraine: Journalists on the Front at the Zoloti Vorota [Golden Gate] metro station in Kyiv.

She noted that the exhibition would not be possible without cooperation with them.

“Here, I see journalists who receive bulletproof vests and helmets from the Union to get protected when they are on a mission on the front. Colleagues who receive cameras and other equipment that helps them do their job. We are glad to cooperate with them,” said Lina Kushch.

As earlier reported, the NUJU’s exhibition presents a collection of photos by famous photographers illustrating the work of Ukrainian soldiers; information about media workers killed as a result of the Russian aggression; photos of media workers persecuted by the Russian regime in Crimea. A portion of the pictures presented at the exhibition was made by media workers who used cameras received from the NUJU with the support of its international partners.

From the Zoloti Vorota metro station, the NUJU First Secretary spoke online at the opening of the international scientific and practical conference Media Communications within Cultural Dialogue.

“I showed photographs of the work of Ukrainian media workers to the participants of the conference – teachers of journalism faculties from different countries. In the conditions of war, the role of journalists and the media in reporting the truth is extremely high,” she said.

The organizer of the conference is Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.
