“A military man, a proper man, a professional man:” the new director general of Ukrinform, former spokesperson for the Operational and Strategic Troops Group, Serhii Cherevatyi, was just introduced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Rostislav Karandieiev, to the staff of the news agency.

According to him, Serhii Cherevatyi “has a professional journalistic education – a correct classical education, albeit in the direction of military journalism.”

“Today, it is more than relevant, and with this in mind, a personnel decision was made to strengthen the work of Ukrinform in the direction of the work related to the generation related to martial law,” Rostislav Karandieiev is quoted as saying by the news agency.

He added that “now, the task is to concentrate information messages in such a way as to renew the world’s attention to Ukraine.”

Karandieiev thanked the previous manager, Oleksii Matsutsa, for his work and noted that he will be offered “that part of the work where he can also join in….”

“Right now, Serhii Cherevatyi would be better for the management of Ukrinform. He, as a person who is a combat officer, until recently the spokesperson for the Eastern Group of Forces, will ensure better communication with those information partners – Armed Forces of Ukraine, headquarters, where we have to take all the information and carry it abroad,” said provisional minister.
