The Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) has received a charitable contribution to help journalists. The funds were sent by Ukrainian journalist and artist Liudmyla Makei, who is a participant in the Journalists in Residence – Kosovo program, and whose art exhibition Flowers Against War, dedicated to World Refugee Day, recently ended in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo.
Liudmyla Makei also organized the sale of her works and transferred the proceeds to the NUJU to support fellow media workers. One of Liudmyla‘s works has been bought by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
The artist sent part of the money from the sale of the painting, purchased personally by the President of Kosovo, to the sister of Iryna Levchenko, currently held hostage by the Melitopol occupiers.
On behalf of colleagues who received certain sums from Liudmyla Makei‘s help, the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the NUJU expressed gratitude to the journalist and artist, Liudmyla Makei.
