The Chernivtsi Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) has been visited by a Turkish journalist, Deniz Berktay. In addition to the fact that he took advantage of a full-time workplace here, an interesting conversation took place with Volodymyr Bober, the head of the Chernivtsi regional organization of the NUJU.

Deniz Berktay received accreditation from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and now prepares materials about events in Ukraine, in particular about the war and our military, who are heroically fighting against the russian invaders. He came to Chernivtsi on business and was provided with an equipped workplace at the JSC.

“I told the colleague from Turkiye about local media and journalists who, in addition to their main work, often volunteer to help our military defeat the enemy, even from Chernivtsi, far from the front line,” says Volodymyr Bober.

The Turkish colleague was interested in the work of the NUJU’s JSC network, where since the beginning of the full-scale war, every journalist has the opportunity to receive a wide range of assistance such as personal protective equipment, an equipped workplace, and financial and technical assistance.

“I demonstrated to Deniz Berktay our possibilities for the work of journalists at the JSC in case of a blackout because we have both an autonomous generator and a Starlink system for communication and lighting equipment for preparing high-quality video. We can offer up to seven jobs to journalists who will have such a need,” said Volodymyr Bober.
