The first screening of the documentary called Tuning Fork of Destiny [Kamerton Doli], dedicated to the work of the outstanding Ukrainian composer/Honored Artist of Ukraine/laureate of the Shevchenko National Prize, Lesia Dychko, took place at the Ivano-Frankivsk Lumière Movie Theater on the occasion of her 85th birthday. The author of the script and director of the film is Olha Tereshkun, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) and the Ukrainian Association of Cinematographers.
The coordinator of the Ivano-Frankivsk Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC), Viktoriya Plakhta, congratulated her colleague on the first screening of the documentary and noted that Tuning Fork of Destiny is not the only film of Olha Tereshkun. She has also successfully realized her own cinematographic projects called Local Bandura Art History, Black Snow, A Moment Of The Sky, A Memory Candle, Sky Cross, and others. Olha Tereshkun is the author of the poetry collection titled The First Sign [Persha Lastivka].
Almost ten years ago, Olha Tereshkun joined the creation and operation of the Media Note choir of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of Journalists, by the way, the only journalistic choir in Ukraine.
Journalist-choristers became participants in many regional and city events. In particular, these are performances for the Independence Day of Ukraine, for the Day of Writing and Language, participation in the regional celebration of Ivano-Frankivsk poetry in Lolyna, a performance at the regional philharmonic on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the master of Ukrainian journalism, Roman Fabryka, a journalistic carol, the funds collected from which were transferred to treatment of Anti-Terrorist Operation fighters, and a number of other measures.
The repertoire of Media Note included almost 50 works by Ukrainian and foreign authors: classical, folk, pop, and spiritual, which the choristers performed not only in Ukrainian but also in English and Lemki. Due to Сovid and the full-scale war, the choir has suspended its activities, but we hope that the journalist-choristers will take the stage again.
