The third strategic session of the Humanitarian Policy workgroup of the Crimean Platform’s Expert Network took place in Kyiv. Its participants discussed the issues related to the formation of the state information policy regarding the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.
The work of the experts was coordinated by a member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine/doctoral student of the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv/associate professor at Vernadsky Taurida National University/member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Gayana Yuksel, and the coordinator of the humanitarian group of the Crimean Platform/editor-in-chief of the Krymska Svitlytsia newspaper, Andrii Shchekun.
The event was attended by the representative of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Volodymyr Liashenko; a representative of the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, Maksym Mayorov; the head of the publishing sector of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, Liudmyla Shchekun; a representative of Ukrainian Helsinki Group, Iryna Aheyeva; the head of the Western Balkan Studies Center/historian and diplomat, Oleksandr Levchenko; special correspondent of the Army Inform agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Yevhen Buket, and other experts and activists.
The strategic session considered a number of questions about the general state information policy of Ukraine after the de-occupation of Crimea, the forms and methods of work of the Crimean media and the information and media environment after the de-occupation, the return and preservation of the Ukrainian state identity, the formation of the Ukrainian worldview, the task of popularizing Ukrainian culture and language, the interaction of the media sector and military-civilian administrations, media sector and authorities.
An important task is to eliminate the consequences of the enemy propaganda and counter it after de-occupation. According to the representative of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Volodymyr Liashenko, the importance of resuming the work of the National Council in the field of information monitoring and regulation.
