NUJU submits complaints about postal delivery to Ukrposhta

Over 500 written complaints from all over Ukraine received by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) hotline in August were handed over to the general director of the Ukrposhta state postal service, Ihor Smilianskyi.

Most appeals are related to the massive redundancy of mail carriers, even in large territorial communities. Consequently, people cannot get the newspapers they have paid for delivered to their homes.

At the same time, the mail carriers are shocked by the mass layoffs, which affects their desire to continue the subscription campaign for newspapers, since it is unknown who will deliver them and how.

The NUJU is convinced that a joint interdepartmental workgroup (NUJU representatives, publishers, government officials, and Ukrposhta) will be able to develop certain proposals to respond to the critical situation of Ukrainians not having access to print media (publications with a postal subscription).

At the same time, prior to creating such a workgroup within the NUJU, they believe that the responsible employees of the central office of Ukrposhta and regional directorates can, on the instructions of the director general of Ukrposhta Ihor Smilianskyi, respond to complaints that have already been recorded by the hotline.

Ukrainians in wartime want to continue to receive the Ukrainian press and have access to postal services.

The work of the hotline continues.

Please send written appeals to the e-mail address [email protected]

Hotline contact number: +380962086788 (calls are accepted on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or send messages via Viber and Telegram messengers).
