NUJU President Sergiy Tomilenko becomes member of Public Council under Parliamentary Free Speech Committee

The Public Council under the Committee on Freedom of Speech of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine included the President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Sergiy Tomilenko, and leading media experts (some of them are also members of the NUJU) as its members.

The Public Council, formed on March 20 by the Parliamentary Committee, included 15 people:

  1. Roman Vasylniak, a lawyer and a member of the Human Rights Platform NGO;
  2. Diana Dutsyk, a member of the Journalistic Ethics Commission and executive director of the Ukrainian Institute of Media and Communication NGO;
  3. Nataliya Zvoryhina, the editor-in-chief of the Zaporizka Pravda newspaper and a board member of the Zaporizka Pravda Friends Club NGO;
  4. Valerii Ivanov, the president of the Academy of Ukrainian Press and the head of the department of the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
  5. Dmytro Komarov, the SEO and SMM manager of the Afisha Media Group site group, journalist, and presenter at the Philadelphia FM radio station;
  6. Lisa Kuzmenko, the head of the Women in Media NGO and member of the Commission on Journalistic Ethics;
  7. Halyna Petrenko, the director of the Detector Media NGO;
  8. Oleksii Pohorelov, the president of the Ukrainian Association of Media Business;
  9. Tetiana Popova, a writer, journalist, TV presenter, and war correspondent;
  10. Oksana Romaniuk, the director of the Institute of Mass Information NGO;
  11. Andrii Solomakha, a member of the steering committee of the Council of Europe project titled Safeguarding Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media in Ukraine and the deputy director of Omega TV;
  12. Mykola Typusiak, the marketing director of the Espresso TV channel;
  13. Sergiy Tomilenko, the President of the NUJU;
  14. Volodymyr Fomichov, a correspondent at Liga.net;
  15. Zoya Sharykova, a representative of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation Journalist Initiative;

Congratulations to active members of the NUJU: Nataliya Zvoryhina, Valerii Ivanov, Tetiana Popova, and Zoya Sharykova, who joined the Public Council!
