The results of the vote at the General Assembly of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) in Budapest have just been announced – a new composition of the Steering Committee for the period 2025-2028 has been formed. The President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Sergiy Tomilenko, has joined it.

“I thank more than 120 delegates from 73 journalistic organizations from 38 European countries for electing an excellent leadership team of the Federation of nine people led by Maja Sever. It is great that great friends of Ukrainian journalists – Allan Boye Thulstrup, Andrea Roth, and Pablo Eichel – were also elected to the Committee,” Sergiy Tomilenko wrote on the social network. “Solidarity is more important than ever. In times of war, it saves lives. I mentioned this in my speech as a candidate, thanking you for supporting our “hotline” for journalists in times of war – the network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers (JSC). Journalists are important!”
