“Freedom of speech and media freedom are fundamental in any democratic country. At the same time, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) asks all colleagues to remember the most important right that each of us has – the right to life. Therefore, we must be responsible for the information we disseminate,” says Sergiy Tomilenko, the President of the NUJU.
The journalist community of Ukraine is distinguished by a high level of social responsibility and professionalism, and it has proven this more than once in practice during the current Russian-Ukrainian war, the Union’s President is convinced.
“We call on all our colleagues to continue to be responsible for the information we share. We ask you not to publish photos from the sites of Russian missile attacks and information that could harm the defense of Ukraine and be useful to the enemy,” Sergiy Tomilenko emphasizes.
