Today’s challenges force us to adapt to the stabilization schedules of power outages. In Lviv, like most regions of Ukraine, strict power outages have been introduced. In conditions where there is no electricity for up to 18 hours a day, devices quickly shut down, and the Internet is unstable. Because of this, it is difficult for journalists to perform editorial tasks and quickly prepare materials.
It is in such difficult circumstances that the Lviv Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) has become a co-working space for media workers where you can work during power outages. Journalists visit the JSC to stay in touch.
“Blackouts force me to completely revise my work schedule. For me, the JSC has become a place where you can focus on your work and not fall out of the information flow, even when there is no power for most of the day. There is always electricity, reliable Internet, and all the necessary conditions for full-fledged work. In addition to technical amenities, it is also important that the JSC has an atmosphere of support and mutual understanding,” said the editor of Radio MAXIMUM, Nazarii Lazur.
The Lviv JSC has everything you need for quality work. In particular, high-speed fiber-optic Internet, uninterrupted power supply, and a pleasant atmosphere. Journalists are met by the JSC coordinator in Lviv, Nataliya Voitovych, and offered comfortable places to work and coffee.
“Currently, the situation with light has become more complicated. However, the Lviv JSC operates as a co-working space, where media workers can recharge their equipment, use the Internet, and calmly prepare materials. We are open to journalists from newsrooms, freelancers, and correspondents so that they can continuously do their work,” emphasized Nataliya Voitovych.
The JSC acts as a place where media workers not only work but also find new acquaintances. While writing texts, you can drink aromatic coffee and chat about current news from the media world with colleagues.
“When there is no electricity for almost the whole day, working from home becomes practically impossible. At the JSC, I can calmly finish writing the material and submit it on time, without thinking about possible interruptions. And I also like the community where you can share experience and knowledge,” says freelancer Khrystyna Yakym.
It is always important for journalists to be in the thick of events and provide information to the public on time. Many different events take place in Lviv every day, so the convenient location of the JSC also adds advantages.
The JSC in Lviv continues to be a place of support for journalists. At a time when power outages have become a part of life, media workers are able to work despite the existing challenges.
