To travel to the Kherson Region to cover the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka HEPP by the Russians, a journalist must have military accreditation and protective equipment.
This was said by Nataliya Humeniuk, the head of the United Coordination Press Center of the South Defense Forces, in a comment for the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
“It is forbidden to travel to the ‘red’ zone. And the places that can be visited are escorted by press officers during short-term trips,” Nataliya Humeniuk explained.
Journalists fill out a form on the Facebook page of South Operational Command, confirm their accreditation, and indicate the topic they plan to work on and the period in which they plan to work.
“Journalists should be aware that they will not be able to go there all at the same time because these are areas under shelling and places where the population is being evacuated. Therefore, we now organize short-term trips in small groups. Of course, we prioritize powerful world mass media with the maximum audience,” Nataliya Humeniuk noted.
She emphasized that journalists must have protective equipment.
We would like to remind you that rental points of the NUJU provide such equipment.
