Canadian journalist Kern Hendricks, who writes for the American editions Undark and Scientific American, has received protective helmets for himself and the translator and a first aid kit from the Lviv Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC).
The journalist said that he is visiting Ukraine for the second time. On an assignment, he is to visit Kharkiv and write a report on the demining of de-occupied territories. The main topic of his works about Ukraine is the impact of the war on the country’s scientific potential. In his articles, he records the damage that Russian troops inflict on our educational and scientific institutions.
According to Kern, despite the war, Ukrainians are an open and friendly nation.
” The West is not fully aware of all the horror and tragedy happening in your country. Our citizens can see everything only through the lens of journalists’ works and stories. But they do not convey all this fear that is happening at the front,” he noted.
JSC coordinator Andrii Bolkun told the journalist about the activities of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), the Ukrainian media’s resistance to Russian propaganda, and wished him to complete the editorial task and convey to his readers the truth about the crimes of the Russian occupation forces.
