In a warm circle of colleagues and friends, newly admitted Union members from the Ivano-Frankivsk Region received their journalistic ID cards and press cards from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU). The following joined the ranks of the Union: Liudmyla Velykodnia, the Communications Manager of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of King Danylo University; Yana Lazorik, a journalist / editor of the news feed of the RAI television and radio company; Tetiana Kryvonis, a graduating editor of the Radio Content Editorial Group of the Information Content Bureau of the Suspilne branch. Kharkiv, who moved to Ivano-Frankivsk for temporary residence due to the full-scale war.

The newly admitted members of the NUJU were presented with journalistic credentials and press cards by Liliya Bodnarchuk, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional union of journalists, and Viktoriya Plakhta, the executive secretary of the regional media workers’ center and coordinator of the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC. They emphasized the importance of unity within the journalistic community, support for one another, and maintaining high standards in the profession. They wished them stability, inspiration, and new creative achievements.

Kharkiv journalist Tetiana Kryvonis, in particular, noted that joining the Union has become especially symbolic for her. Despite the long distance from her home due to the war, she continues her work, covering important social topics, supporting the Ukrainian information space, and remaining faithful to journalistic principles.

“For me, joining the ranks of the NUJU is not only a recognition of my professional path, but also a symbol of support and unity of the journalistic community. And today I especially feel that we are together, regardless of the circumstances and place of residence. I want to thank the Union for its trust and support!” said Tetiana Kryvonis.

This solemn event became not only a formal act of admission to the ranks of the NUJU but also a significant testament to unity, professional solidarity, and the power of the Ukrainian journalistic voice.

According to Viktoriya Plakhta, during the period of the full-scale war in Ukraine, seven media workers from among the internally displaced persons temporarily living in the Carpathian region joined the ranks of the NUJU. Four more IDP journalists were registered with the Ivano-Frankivsk regional journalists’ center.

The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.

Contact the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC at 066 677 0726 (Viktoriya Plakhta, the coordinator of the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC). The Center’s address is 25 Sichovykh Striltsiv Street.
