The Fix Foundation, in cooperation with the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), announces further technical support for Ukrainian media and journalists under the Voices of Ukraine program. The program is part of the Hannah-Arendt Initiative and is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.

The goal of the project is to ensure the continuous work of Ukrainian journalists in life-threatening conditions by providing material support to Ukrainian media outlets that continue to operate in the country. Grants are provided for the purchase of equipment necessary for the stable operation of editorial offices.

Who can participate in the Voices of Ukraine program?

Applications for participation in the program are accepted from all types of media registered in accordance with Ukrainian legislation: print and online publications, radio stations, television channels, as well as media startups and well-known media organizations. The main condition is full compliance of the candidate’s activities with current laws and regulations governing the media in Ukraine.

Priority support is provided to:

  • Frontline media: It is particularly important to provide them with the necessary equipment and technical support to carry out their work effectively in difficult conditions.
  • Hyperlocal media: particular attention will be paid to hyperlocal media that work directly with local communities and cover issues important to specific regions. For example, projects engaged in mobile journalism (MOJO) and/or aiming to create new content formats, such as video reports, interactive materials, and other media products.
  • Small and medium-sized national media: independent nationwide publications, digital media platforms, and multimedia editorial offices that systematically work with topics of public interest (public finances, human rights, government accountability, the fight against corruption, investigative journalism, etc.), but do not have sustainable access to international grant programs or commercial sources of funding.

The maximum grant amount for a single media organization is EUR 10,000 (about UAH 490,000 at the current exchange rate). For individual journalists or freelancers, support of up to EUR 1,600 per person (about UAH 78,000) is provided.

The final amount of payments will be made in hryvnias at the exchange rate in effect at the time of the transfer of funds. Exceptions are possible when expensive, but critically important, equipment is purchased for shared use by several journalists from the same editorial office.

How to participate?

To participate, media must submit an application in Ukrainian at the link. The deadline for submitting applications is December 14, 2025.
