How to stay strong in times of war? Ukrainian journalists work every day at the limit of what is possible – covering tragedies, experiencing personal losses, looking for the strength to be with their audience. We know very well how important knowledge and support are to survive in these extremely difficult conditions.
That is why it is especially valuable for us that the famous American Dart Center has just announced that it will continue its work in an updated format as the Global Center for Journalism and Trauma.
This year, the Center team, together with the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), held a series of crucial webinars:
- “The Role of Leaders: How to Strengthen Team Resilience”
- “Mental Health of Media Professionals: The Unique Context of Ukrainian Journalism”
- “Child Trauma: How to Write About Children Who Survived War”
- “Trauma-Informed Leadership: Supporting Newsrooms in Challenging Times”
- “How to Ethically Cover Casualties: Not Just Facts, but Details”
The creation of the Global Center for Journalism and Trauma means that Ukrainian media professionals will continue to have access to international expertise and resources that help them survive psychologically and professionally.
