On August 3, the newsroom of the Sarnenski Novyny newspaper hosted an unusual event for its team: in the presence of colleagues, a professional journalist from Mariupol, Iryna Husak, was presented with a new laptop.

The mission was carried out on behalf of the central office of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) by the head of the Rivne regional organization of the Union/Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Dmytro Tarasiuk.

With the beginning of the full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine, Iryna was forced to leave her hometown Mariupol for Sarny. But even this circumstance did not prevent her from continuing her journalistic activities and spreading accurate information for those who remained in the occupied territories. Currently, Iryna Husak and several like-minded colleagues run two Internet sites called Donbas-24 and MRPL.Sity. Thus, the technical equipment provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany in cooperation with the Academy of Ukrainian Press became a rather timely help in preparing journalistic materials and placing them on the world wide web.

On this occasion, Iryna Husak was sincerely congratulated by Svitlana Liashko, the editor-in-chief of the Sarnenski Novyny newspaper, and Heorhii Oleksandrovych, the president of the Sarny Association of Freelance Journalists and Photojournalists. Iryna herself sincerely thanked the NUJU for the generous gift. She assured that the received equipment would exclusively serve the purpose of filling websites with the latest and up-to-date information about events in Ukraine. The ruscist-occupied Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, as well as Crimea, lack such information a lot.
