Difficult 2024: Journalistic solidarity helps support stability

2024 was a year of new challenges, difficult tasks, and media transformation for Ukrainian journalists – the third year of the full-scale invasion by the russian federation of the territory of our country. The difficult security, psychological, and financial situation, and difficulties with the release of media materials in front-line territories and, in fact, in other regions of Ukraine – are just some of the problems that accompanied the activities of the media in 2024. But media workers know that they can always count on the help of their professional community – the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) and the network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers created by it and operating with the support of a number of foreign organizations. Such assistance helped many media outlets survive; many media workers remain in the profession, and many of our colleagues support their morale and stability.
