The regional organizations of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), as well as the central governing body of the largest creative Union in the country, systematically cooperate with various components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. As a result of multifaceted interaction, not only professional coverage of the course of the russian-Ukrainian war is carried out, but also close contacts are established with military journalists. Logically, the most talented representatives of this generation join the ranks of the NUJU.

These days, in the city of Rivne, at a meeting of the board of the regional organization of the Union, which has been headed by Dmytro Tarasiuk for many years, Colonel Oleh Dombrovskyi, the head of the public relations department/deputy head of the communications department of the Operational Command West of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was accepted into the NUJU.

“I thank my colleagues for their trust and appreciation of my professional activities. The national media community is currently facing many challenges. Therefore, we will continue to increase and scale the level of communication between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and civil society!” said Oleh Dombrovskyi. During a substantive conversation with civilian journalists, he outlined priority areas of interaction in the interests of all components of the Defense Forces, primarily Operational Command West.

Earlier, Junior Lieutenant Oleksandr Sakhno, an officer of the communications unit of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna Kyivska, joined the Union in Rivne.

In the Volyn Region, during a meeting of the governing body of the local NUJU branch, headed by Mykhailo Savchak, the decision of the primary organization of the Volynska Hazeta, to admit Lieutenant Colonel Marharyta Vershynina, assistant to the detachment commander, head of the press service of the 6th Volyn Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, to the ranks of the Union was approved.

Comment by NUJU President Sergiy Tomilenko:

“When representatives of the communications units of the Defense Forces join our journalistic community, it strengthens trust between military and civilian media. Such interaction allows us to qualitatively and promptly cover events important to society and also contribute to the development of professional unity and support in wartime.”
