Paramedic and journalist Iryna Tsybukh was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Ukraine.

25-year-old Iryna, a project manager for the regional public broadcasting company and a combat medic of the Hospitallers, was killed on May 29, 2024, during a rotation on the Kharkiv Axis.

Her path as a defender began back in 2015 when she first went to Donbas as a paramedic. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Iryna became the head of the Hospitallers medical crew, which continues to evacuate the wounded from the front line.

The media personality was awarded numerous awards: the Order of Merit from the President (2023) and the UP 100. Power of Women Award, a posthumous award from the Ukrainian Women’s Congress for the development of gender equality and women’s leadership. In September, a petition to award Iryna the title of Hero of Ukraine collected the required 25,000 signatures.
