Cooperation memorandum: number of like-minded people increase among Dnipro media people

The other day, the Dnipro regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Source of Support [Dzherelo Pidtrymky] non-governmental organization and with the Center for Assistance to IDPs and the Army charitable foundation.

The document was signed during a roundtable held at the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the NUJU. Its participants were media workers, volunteers, internally displaced persons, and representatives of charitable organizations.

Representatives of NGOs and charitable foundations noted that today, it is extremely difficult for them to work without high-quality communication. And journalists and the media can ensure it.

As Oleksii Kovalchuk, the board chairperson of the Dnipro regional organization of the NUJU, noted that today, the public and the media are joining forces to objectively and systematically inform Ukrainian society and international partners about the situation surrounding IDPs and other victims of hostilities citizens.

“Unfortunately, the war continues, and it poses new challenges and raises more and more questions. They need to be responded to and resolved. Charitable foundations, volunteer, and NGOs lend a helping hand to Ukrainians who have left their homes and are suffering from the war. In turn, the media can convey all the important information both to local communities and to the global community. It is the journalists who pay attention to the pain and show the right. Today, we are united by common causes, and we are ready to conduct a dialogue for the sake of victory,” said the head of the regional JSC.

The JSC has been operating on the basis of the Dnipro regional organization of the NUJU for a year and a half. During this period, the Center provided media colleagues with various assistance: from protective equipment for work in hot spots to psychological support and legal advice. Now, it will also become a platform for constant discussions, discussion of pressing issues between philanthropists and journalists, who not only hold the information front but also actively volunteer.
