On the eve of the Easter holidays, readers of Novomykolayivka in the Zaporizhzhia Region, received an unusual issue of the newspaper Nashe Zhyttia at their addresses. Unusual because it was born from all the events that took place in our communities. This is very necessary information for people because, thanks to the newspaper, they will learn the news during this difficult war period and get acquainted with the events that have been held recently. This is very important because when people do not have communication and the Internet, only the newspaper remains the only source that carries the truth about the events to our citizens, who eagerly await each issue.
“The printed word gives hope and strengthens faith in victory,” readers tell us. Invaluable help for printing the circulation came in a timely manner from the Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine, for which we sincerely thank its head, Oksana Brovko. Our National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), headed by its President Sergiy Tomilenko, also contributed its share. The NUJU always supports both our newspaper and local print media of the Zaporizhzhia Region and all of Ukraine. Let’s keep working! Together, we are strong!
As earlier reported, the other day in the Zaporizhzhia Region, the issues of the district newspaper Chervonyi Promin were resumed.
The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.
Call the Zaporizhzhia JSC at 096 277 5352 (Nataliya Kuzmenko and Valentyna Manzhura, co-coordinators of the Zaporizhzhia JSC). The Center’s address is 15 Sobornyi Avenue.
