Andrii Buchak (callsign Luhansk), who defended Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), has been killed at the front.
In the 2000s, Andrii Buchak worked in the Luhansk advertising and information newspaper Kuriyer. There, he met his future wife, Olena.
“Forever 42. You left so early,” Olena wrote on the social network. “Beloved husband, loyal friend, always ready to come to the rescue, cheerful, a little romantic, dreamed, enjoyed life, loved to travel. A true patriot! Loved Ukraine and fought for its freedom. You will always be in my heart. Your will and spirit made me strong. I will try to live for the two of us, no matter how difficult it is. Heroes live forever!”
Andrii took an active part in the Luhansk Maidan, and when the war began, he joined the AFU. On August 13, 2024, he went missing near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk Region. Olena Buchak reported his death on November 24.
The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased colleague. Eternal glory, eternal memory!
