On May 29, Lviv resident Viktor Petrov, 33, the first editor-in-chief of the Sykhiv Media online publication, was killed in the battles on the Bakhmut axis.
“In 2016-2019, Victor was the first editor-in-chief of the online publication of Sykhiv Media. So, he was engaged in videography: he shot documentaries, video stories, and commercial video clips. Together with journalist Gala Kozyutinska, he established a creative shooting and editing studio, and in the last year – a creative school for Lviv teenagers and forced migrants,” said the editor-in-chief of Sykhiv Media, Karina Rokhanska. “For a long time, Viktor was a board member of the Social Initiatives Institute non-governmental organization.”
“Viktor was a member of the SII family, an activist, a conscious citizen,” the Social Initiatives Institute informs. “Founded the WHAT IF creative studio and the What If Creative School. He was the initiator of many projects, making a great contribution to the country’s development.”
At the end of 2022, Viktor was mobilized; he fought in the ranks of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa on the eastern axis.
