This year’s Pulitzer Prize in two nominations, For Public Service and Breaking News Photography, was awarded to the Associated Press news agency for a photo from Mariupol by Ukrainian journalists Yevhen Malolietka (Evgeniy Maloletka), Mstyslav Chernov and Vasylisa Stepanenko (Vasilisa Stepanenko), as well as to French correspondent Lori Hinnant.

In addition, The New York Times received an award for its coverage of the events in Bucha. Ukrainian photojournalist Stas Kozliuk worked as part of the team.
The Pulitzer Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of literature, journalism, music, and theater in the United States. It was founded by the “yellow press” publisher Joseph Pulitzer. Since 1917, it has been awarded annually on the first Monday in May by the trustees of Columbia University in New York.
